Book Five in the Terrell Newman Detective Series
Goddess of Darkness

Newman is drawn back to the family of the lawyer whose death he investigated in The House of Correction after a young man is found dead in Austin from a drug overdose. The dead man turns out to be the one of the two estranged sons of the lawyer's widow. When the widow and the family lawyer are murdered shortly afterwards, suspicion falls on the daughter, the "Goddess of Darkness", a highly intelligent but emotionally infantile young woman who has recruited a number of "slaves" through the Internet.

A cautionary note: this is one of three titles in the Terrell Newman series (House of Correction, Goddess of Darkness, and Goddess in a Cage) which explore the dark world of bondage/discipline and sado-masochism. While invested, as are all titles in the series, with humor, tenderness, poignancy and memorable characters, these three books are not recommended for young readers or for others who might find the subject matter disturbing.

Read the first chapter.
